I had the pleasure this weekend of fishing with Adam from Fayetteville at Dry Run Creek. In two days he got numerous Rainbows and a small Brown. Two of the bows were in the 4 1/2 to 5 lb range and very fat. I hope to post some pictures in the not too distant future in the gallery.
Although Adam had a cast on one hand he was doing a great job fighting and landing the fish on both spinning and fly rods. It was a lot of fun for everyone.
For those of you not familiar with Dry Run Creek it is a small stream about a mile long that flows from the Norfork Hatchery into The Norfork river. The only people allowed to fish it are children under 16 and severely handicapped adults.
The fishing is phenomenal and access is very easy ,thanks to the habitat improvement project that was recently completed. The water is gin clear so the kids can see the fish they are fishing for, and that is exciting from the word go. If you are headed this way with children or grandchildren, dry run creek is a wonderful way to introduce the little ones to troutfishing at its finest! All fishing is done with single barbless hooks and is 100% catch and release. Take a kid fishing and relive your first days on the water, it’ll make your day AND his or hers!!
